Envelope Art

Today I can finally share with you my very first piece of Envelope Art.! I was part of an fun envelope swap organised by the lovely and very talented  Wendy Walsh at Wendy Lee Designs
Why not pop on by and tell her I said Hi!

After I got my partner I thought.. hmm now what do I do, I've never actually done this before..  So I had  a little think, and started to pull bits and pieces out, inks, paints stamps and rub ons, paper, what ever I could find.. just sat down and stuck things down.. let it sort of take on a mind of it's own, this is what happened. I love how it turned out!

Don't you just love this little cutie, she is cut from a collage sheet and layered on top of a butterfly cut out of a piece of Tim Holtz Paper.

I actually opened the envelope all the way out when I was collaging it, and the refolded it, that was how I managed to be able to add in a bit of machine stitching around the outside edges.

It has since been posted off and found it's new home where it is  very well loved which makes me happy. I think I will most definitely have another go at this!

thanks so much for stopping by,

Happy Creating,
Karen xx
