My Happy Place...

Hope you have all had a wonderful week!
Last night I got to spend a little time creating with friends via Skype.. ( well at least I got to hear them, stupid computer!)

We all made a tag while we were chatting, this is the tag I made..

I was in the mood for a playing with a little Prima last night, The tag is made on a base of pattern paper from the Finnabair Prima Range and I've
added in a bit of distress ink ( walnut stain and peeled paint, to blend the left side of my tag) A few more Tim Holtz Remnant Rubs - just cant get enough of these either!,
and of course lots of  Prima metal gorgeousness by Ingvild Bolme ( sigh, look at the gorgeous little street sign) and Finnabair

The photo is one of me when I was about 2 - and no.. no flowers were actually eaten in  the moments this photo was taken.. though I must admit I do look a little mischievous there... giggle..

I hope you have all enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon.

I just want to also say a big thank you and Hello to my new followers,

Happy Creating! Karen xxx

Journey

Happy Wednesday Everyone! Hope you have all had a wonderful Easter, and got to spend it with your loved ones.

I've had a little break and am back now ready with lots of goodies to share with you.. So today I thought I'd share with you another of my latest tags.. I've gone with a base of 7Dots Studio 9th Wave for this one again

I started off with  my tag base, some machine stitching and some cut up pieces of a 9th Wave sticker element. I'm a little sad, I've just realised that this was the last piece of this particular 7Dots studio paper that I have. It has definitely been a favourite!!

Next I began to layer my metal embellishments, I've used a few from different Prima ranges. And also a fussy cut butterfly from some of packaging from the Finnabair embellishments. Don't you just love that metal flower. I have a wonderful friend to thank for that bit of Finnabair gorgeousness.. ( Shirley you rock!!)

I kept building up my layers adding things in, taking things out, until I was happy with how it looked..

I've also added in some Prima crystals, love the little added element of sparkle they add,  to finish off I've added in a Tim Holtz remnant rub and mini paper clip as well as one of my very last fractured dolls distressed with a little black soot distress paint..

And I couldn't not share a couple of close up detail pics... they just make me smile!

Thank you so much for stopping by and to all of the wonderfully kind comments you've all been leaving, I appreciate you stopping by so very much! I hope you've enjoyed your visit,

see you again soon,
 Happy Creating..

Worn Book Tag Journal cover.

It's a miserable wet and rainy Monday here today, so I thought I would share with you my altered worn book cover tag journal.  As you have probably guessed by now, I love to make tags.. so I thought I had better have a place to put them. So I have altered the front of one of Tim Holtz's Worn covers. I've used the composition one.

This is how it started off..

I then made this tag using paper from the 9th Wave collection from 7Dots Studio, a Graphic 45 Book Plate and fussy cut butterfly, as well as a selection of Tim Holtz Idea- ology.. ( of course giggle) and a little bit of prima (the clock face)

The second last step was attach it to the front of the worn book cover.

and  lastly to add in a little bit of dangly curtness to the side of the cover. Í just love the little tiny pocket watch!

So there you have it, one new Tag Journal ready to fill!

Thank you for stopping by to visit, hope to see you again soon.

A Tailor's Dream

Happy Sunday!
Lately I've been having a little fun playing along with some challenges.

A little while ago I  found the Scrapki Wyzwaniowo challenge blog..
I had an idea floating around in my head, but couldn't quite figure it out, then I found this particular challenge.. and it all just fell into place!

Plus who wouldn't love to win a 6x6 pack of the gorgeous new 7Dots Studio Cold Country collection!

The Tailor's dream Challenge was to make any project that is related to tailoring, , or sewing, fabric paper, patterns etc, that type of thing.

This is what I came up with, lots of stitching, seam binding and lace trim, mixed in with a little bit of Prima, Tim Holtz, 7Dots Studio and UmWow Studio goodness.

and a few little close ups.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
Hope to see you again soon.

Fly Away

When I saw the new challenge over on the 7Dots Studio Blog I knew I just had to  play along. The theme is Fly away. You can find the blog challenge here.

This is what the theme means to me...

I have used the reverse side of Sweet Dreams from the Dreamer Collection . ( yes I have been hoarding it.. giggle)

and  some sticker elements from the Domestic Goddess collection from 7Dots Studio.

I have also added in a few pieces of Tim Holtz Idea-ology - I can tell the monocles are going to be a favourite!. I've also used a little sprinkle of UmWow Studio Circle Confetti - this chipboard is to die for!

So there you have it.. my version of fly away..

Thank you for stopping by, I hope to see you again soon..

Collector of Memories.

Happy Wednesday!

Are you like me? A collector of Memories? I have so many photos with special memories that I have tucked away, I thought it was time I dusted off the box and pulled some of them out and started to create with those memories.

So today I  have a special tag to share with you .

Made using not only one of those special memory photographs, A photo of  my Aunt as a young girl, but also some of my favourite Tim Holtz Idea-ology - Baubles, wishbones and Remnant Rubs but also some gorgeous 7Dots Studios  Domestic Goddess Paper and some gorgeous Prima  Finnabair Mechanicals - A perfect combination I think!

I love the Domestic Goddess range, even though I don't get to create with pinks very often, so it was nice to pull some out and have a play.. I think the pinks and yellows in this particular paper blend with the colour of the old photo perfectly.

Thank you so much for stopping by,  Why don't you dust of some of those old photographs  and create some new special keepsakes ? Thank you so much for stopping by ,  I Hope you've enjoyed your visit

Happy Creating

12 tags of 2014 - April

Howdy Folks!!

Hope you've had a chance to get inky and creative over the last little while.. I have my April tag for Tim Holtz's 12 tags of 2014 to share with you today.. I love this months tag., its just gorgeous..

apriltag

This is my version.. As always I started of with the best of intentions..  but things went a little off course right from the beginning..   When I first started I added in a  stamped layer using Shaded Lilac Distress paint , then followed the rest of Tim's instructions for the background.. I love the extra little bit of colour and texture it gives..

I then spied my new packs of idea-ology Adornments and Elastic loops sitting on my desk and  things just went from there..

This is what I ended up with.. a little different from Tim's, but i'm happy!
The photo of cute little girl I've added in is a member of my  family..

I love the colour combo of shaded lilac, tattered rose and walnut stain, with just a hint of manila peeking out from under the tissue tape..

So there you have it, another months tag is finished.. Thank you so much for stoping by,
hope to see you all again soon.

Happy creating..
